Welcome back, Malcolm Delpeche

Bristol Flyers are proud to welcome Malcolm Delpeche back to the club, ahead of the 2021/22 season.

The 25-year-old forward, who holds a British passport, returns for a second spell in Bristol and signs on an initial one-year contract.

Speaking on his return to the Flyers, Delpeche said: "It’s kind of surreal to be coming back, but I’m excited for the opportunity.

"I always thought I would be returning to England at some point and I think that it’s almost fate to be coming back to the Flyers.

“I’m already familiar with the club and I know Coach Kapoulas very well. My brother has told me nothing but great things about his time in Bristol, so I know what I’m getting myself into.

"My message to the Flyers fans is to get ready for more excitement. I’m sure they've been able to follow online this past year, but there’s nothing like being at a game live.

"I think having the energy and excitement back is something they can definitely look forward to this season."

Malcolm Delpeche first joined the Flyers in 2018 alongside his twin brother Marcus, and made 12 appearances for the club, averaging 4.8 points and 3.4 rebounds in just 11 minutes per game.

He went on to join German Pro B side WWU Baskets Munster, where he posted a career average of 10.9 points and 7.6 rebounds in 83 games over the last three years.

During his time in Munster, Delpeche became a fan favourite at the club and led the team to the German Pro-B play-off final in 2019.

Flyers Head Coach Andreas Kapoulas said: "We are very pleased to welcome Malcolm back to Bristol.

"We always thought of the opportunity to bring him back and it’s great that everything has aligned to make it possible.

“Malcolm brings elite length and athleticism to our front court and his game has developed a lot during his time in Germany.

“He's already familiar with the BBL and our programme, which is very important for our new-look roster."
