Mike Vigor spoke to our cameras for the first time since being named the new Bristol Flyers captain, and outlined his goals for the upcoming season.
The Australian forward took over the reigns from Greg Streete during pre-season, after helping the Perth Redbacks to their first SBL Championship in 20 years during the summer.
Despite a busy summer, the 27-year-old admitted he's ready to take on his new role with the club.
"It's a big honour to be named captain and I accept it with open arms," he told bristolflyers.co.uk.
"Greg is Mr Bristol! He played here for 15 years and he's been around since the Flyers were in Division Four,"
"One thing that he's really taught me is how to put the team before yourself, he's one of the most selfless and humble guys there are.
The Flyers are entering the 2017/18 season of the back of their most successful year since joining the BBL and Vigor revealed he's setting his sights on a winning record.
"We really want to pick up where we left off last season," he added.
"Our goal this season is to finish as high as possible - I'd love to see Bristol as a top-four team this year and really pushing for some silverware."
