Video: Kapoulas Begins Training Camp With GB Under-20s

Andreas Kapoulas and the Great Britain Under-20s squad have began training camp ahead of this summer’s European Championships.

Coach K was appointed head coach for the tournament after making the step up from GB U20s assistant coach, a position he has held alongside his Flyers role for the last two years. In 2014 he helped GB achieve their highest ever finish of 11th place.

Speaking to hoopsfix.com, Kapoulas said: "I really like the atmosphere of this group, the guys have come in and really taken on the challenge of trying to get back to Division A."

Great Britian were one of seven teams to be relegated into Division B last year, and the likes of Greece, Russia and Croatia will all be battling with them to win promotion with a top three finish.

Prior to heading to Greece for the FIBA U20 European Championship Division B, GB will compete in a warm-up competition in Portugal between Friday, July 1st and Monday, July 4th where they will face Sweden and Belarus. The team will also step out for further friendlies against host nation Greece and Portugal prior to the start of the tournament in Chalkida.

GB have been drawn in Group C, where they will play Albania, Ireland, Kosovo, Netherlands and Greece during the first phase.
