'Teddy told me this is a great club' - Mockford

Ben Mockford says fellow GB International Teddy Okereafor played a big part in his decision to join Bristol Flyers.

Mockford arrives in Bristol with 41 caps for Great Britain and a ringing endorsement of his new club from fellow GB teammate Teddy Okereafor.

Speaking to Flyers TV in his first official interview, Mockford said: "Obviously they’ve just brought Teddy (Okereafor) in, and he's a close friend of mine, so that was a huge part of my decision - we like playing together.

"I naturally reached out him after I spoke to Coach Kapoulas and he really likes it here. Teddy has been a long-term teammate of mine with the national team, so it was a no-brainer.

"I think the league is moving in the right direction and since the league has got better you’ve seen more and more GB internationals coming back -  if we had the choice we'd want to play here.

"The club is moving in a great direction. I really like what they’re doing here and they have good plans for the future with their own arena."

Mockford links up with the Flyers squad as preparations continue for the visit of Glasgow Rocks on Saturday, December 12th (6.30pm tip-off) – exclusively live on Flyers TV with a £5 game pass.
