Sophie Atwill has been named the 2019 Bristol Flyers fan of the year.
The Fan of the Year is an annual award for a supporter who has shown dedication and commitment beyond the norm in supporting the Flyers over the course of the season
Sophie started watching the Bristol Flyers in 2017, after the Bristol Sport Foundation attended her school to deliver after school basketball sessions. After attending her first game, she quickly became a huge fan and now trains with the Flyers Under-10 girls programme.
"I would like to thank everyone at Bristol Flyers for being so friendly & welcoming,” said Sophie’s dad Gary Atwill.
"Her favourite player is Daniel Edozie, but she told me that ‘they’re all super good'.
“The ladies involved with the organising and running of the girl's programme have been fantastic - Mai Zilbeti and Erin Hunter are both amazing with the girls."
Zilbeti presented Sophie with her ‘fan of the year’ signed jersey at half-time during the last home game of the season against London City Royals.
