SGS College to host basketball statistics course this Sunday

The SGS College Arena will host an introduction to basketball statistics course on Sunday, September 22nd.

The course is one of several regional courses being sponsored by Basketball England (BE) with the aim of enabling clubs to train new statisticians ahead of the National Basketball League (NBL) season to come. Bristol Flyers' statistician Owen Parker is honoured to be delivering the South West regional course.
The course consists of four hours of classroom learning with video examples and a chance to practice.

The classroom time will be followed by an exhibition game with the opportunity for participants to practice recording statistics live.

As well as sponsoring the course, there is funding available to new Division Two clubs where stats is a new requirement; Basketball England will cover the cost of two people from each new NBL Division Two club including travel costs of up to 100 miles.

The course will run from 12noon until 6pm on Sunday, with space for up to 24 participants. Bookings will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.

Please note, limited parking will be available at the WISE Campus car park (parking charges apply).
