Mathias Seilund has signed a one-year extension with the Bristol Flyers.
The Danish international, who signed his first professional contract with the club, has now committed until the end of the 2015/16 season.
Seilund finished his four year USA college career with Fairleigh Dickinson as one of the record shooters for the programme shooting 38% from beyond the arc and 83% from the free throw line. Known for his tremendous work ethic, Mathias was also co-captain of his College side during his senior year.
The 25 year old forward made 26 appearances for the Flyers during their debut season in the BBL, averaging 10.4 points per game whilst shooting 36% from beyond the arc.
Mathias will be looking to continue his professional basketball career playing for the Flyers, while studying at the University of West of England as a postgraduate student.
“I think we surprised a lot of people with how well we played in our first year in the BBL,” Seilund told bristolflyers.co.uk.
“I’m excited to have signed with the Flyers for another season, and I’m looking forward to making the transition from being an underdog into being a top team in the league.”
Flyers’ Head Coach Andreas Kapoulas was pleased to keep such an instrumental figure from last year’s play-off qualification campaign.
“Mathias was a key contributor to our successful first year in the BBL and it’s great to see him return for a second year.” said Kapoulas.
“He has a very positive presence and brings his experience, skill and great work ethic to our roster in preparation for the new season.”
Season tickets for the 2015/16 season go on sale Monday, August 3rd.
