Bristol Flyers Basketball Club is saddened to learn of the sudden passing of former player Ryan Williams, aged 34.
Williams tragically died in a car accident in USA, where he has resided for several years.
The American played for the club during the 2007/08 season, featuring alongside the likes of Greg Streete, Tyrone Treasure, Gareth Till and Arek Makowski.
A competitive, high-flying forward, Williams proved a huge favourite with Flyers fans.
Williams achieved a fourth-placed finish in his one year with the club, helping Flyers to a 10-8 record in the league and the semi-final of the Division One play-offs.
"Ryan was an integral member of our team during our first year in EBL Division One,” said Andreas Kapoulas.
“He made a huge contribution to the growth of basketball in Bristol during his short time with the club.
"We are very saddened to hear about him passing away and we want to extend our condolences to his family in this very difficult period.”
Our thoughts are with Ryan’s family and friends at this sad time.
