Rohndell Goodwin - the first interview

Rohndell Goodwin spoke to Bristol Flyers TV for the first time since joining the club from Chaminade University of Honolulu.

The 6ft 5in American was third in the Pacific West Conference in scoring last season at 20.5 points per game on his way to first team all-conference honours.

During his two-year spell with the Silverswords, Goodwin’s career scoring average of 18.4 points per game was third in school history.

"I really enjoyed my time at Chaminade," Goodwin told Bristol Flyers TV

"Even though Hawaii is still a part of the United States it really felt like its own country, so I feel like that experience has helped me prepare for life with the Bristol Flyers.

"It feels good to finally be here - It's like all the hard work I’ve been putting in is starting to pay off.

"Coach Kapoulas told me that the Flyers are on the rise, they’ve been getting better every year since they’ve been in the BBL and I'm ready to be a part of that."

Goodwin cracked double-digit scoring in all 29 games in 2016/17, scoring over 20 points 17 times, including a career-high 31 points against Hawai’i Pacific in December. Last season he was also among the PacWest leaders in rebounds per game (6.5), three-pointers per game (2.3) and field goal percentage (.469).

Prior to joining Chaminade University of Honolulu, Goodwin attended Cañada College, where he earned Northern California Junior College Player of the Year honours after averaging 17.0 points and 5.2 rebounds per game as a sophomore.

Watch Rohndell Goodwin make his Bristol Flyers debut against USA Select on Thursday, September 7th.
