Rogers hoping to follow in Greg Streete's footsteps

Josh Rogers will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Greg Streete after returning to his boyhood club Bristol Flyers.

The Bristol-born forward has become the ninth player to commit to Coach Kapoulas’ 2019/20 roster after agreeing a switch from London City Royals.

"When I first started in the Under-14s, Greg Streete and Tyrone Treasure were idols to us," he told Bristol Flyers TV.
"We'd go home and talk about what colour trainers they were wearing. Greg taught me a move when I was 12 that I still use to this day.

"To come back and follow in the footsteps of these players is an honour. I’m excited to get involved in the community, and hopefully do what those players did for me.

"To be back now after playing all over the world, it's a surreal feeling, but it's something I always knew would happen."

"I always felt like my path would to lead me back to play for the Flyers again. I’m looking forward to playing under Coach Kapoulas again, who's been my coach since I was 14 years old.

"It was always about waiting for the right time and when I met with Coach Kapoulas over the summer, I was excited about the situation so I jumped straight at it.

“It feels great to be back home where I first started playing basketball and I’m very excited to get started."
