Bristol Flyers has appointed Rich Clarke as its lead Strength and Conditioning Coach ahead of the 2021/22 British Basketball League season.
Clarke, who specialises in multi-directional speed and athletic movement for team sports, brings more than 10 years of experience to the Flyers, and has worked across a range of sports including professional rugby, football, multi-sport scholarship schemes and privately with athletes of all ages.
He has been a director for the UK's professional body for strength and conditioning (UKSCA), and has also written and taught on undergraduate and post-graduate Strength & Conditioning degree programmes.
Flyers Head Coach Andreas Kapoulas said: “Rich brings a tremendous amount of experience and expertise to our programme. I am very pleased to welcome him to our staff.
"Rich will build on the great work that has previously been done and will evolve the process to get the best from our players and optimise team performance for the coming season."
The club would like to praise the work of departing Craig Rimmer, who led Flyers S&C delivery since 2016 and has stepped down this summer to concentrate further on his own business projects.
Speaking on Rimmer’s departure, Kapoulas added: “Over the years our S&C provision has helped our players maximise their performances on court and Craig has played a pivotal role in laying the foundations of a high performance environment.”
"We want to thank him for all his efforts and dedication during his time with our programme.”
