Report: Taunton Tigers 27-33 Flyers U12s

Flyers U12s secured impressive back-to-back wins against Taunton Tigers and Plymouth Raiders this weekend.

Taking on Taunton Tigers first, Flyers got off to a good start with some quick transition layups. Making the most of their height advantage, Tigers began to dominate the rebounding and obtaining many second chances later in the first.

The game was tight throughout the second period, Flyers bringing on rookie player Tomeck to attempt to compete against the taller and more powerful Taunton players.

The beginning of the third saw Flyers begin to become stronger at both ends of the floor with some big performances from Reef Robbins and Sam Parsons.

Flyers continued to press and managed to take the lead in the fourth, eventually winning the low scoring game, 33-27.

The U12s brought this form into their second game against Plymouth Raiders, getting off to a strong start with great defence forcing the turnover and getting out in transition.

Kyron Morris off the bench did an outstanding job of defending a more experienced point guard as did James Craddock.

Flyers kept piling on the pressure with some good hustling from Kobe Hill and better rebounding than in the Tigers game.

This strong performance from the roster saw the U12s end the game with a comfortable victory, 59-17.

The U12’s have now won their last three games but know that there is still a lot to work to do in training, particularly on layups and boxing out. The team will focus their efforts on this to improve performance in their upcoming games, and keep their winning run going.
