Report: Sheffield Sharks 82-79 Bristol Flyers

Bristol Flyers were unable to complete a fourth quarter comeback, falling short to the Sheffield Sharks, 82-79 away from home.

Marcus Delpeche led the way with 27 points and 11 rebounds, whilst Justin Baker and Eric Lockett had 15 points apiece.

An evenly-matched first quarter saw both teams trade baskets. A Josh Wilcher three, followed by a pair of lay-ups from Justin Baker kept it close, with Flyers trailing 25-24 after the first ten minutes.

Eric Lockett scored six of his 15 points in the second period and a pair of scores from Marcus Delpeche made it a three point game at the half-time break.

Sharks began to build momentum in the second half, holding Flyers to just 13 third quarter points and building an 18 point lead of their own.

Teddy Okereafor stemmed the bleeding with a three pointer to end the period, with the visitors having it all to do in the fourth quarter, trailing 71-53.

Flyers outscored their opponents, 26-11 in the fourth quarter, with Delpeche connecting on back-to-back alley-oop, quickly followed by a lay-up to make it a three point game with under a minute to play.

A putback lay-up from Lockett narrowed the margin down to a single point with 17 seconds to go, but with Flyers needing to foul to stop the clock, Kipper Nichols iced the game from the free throw line.
