Report: Manchester Giants 87-105 Bristol Flyers

Bristol Flyers finished the BBL regular season on a high, running out 87-105 winners against Manchester Giants at the Trafford Sportsdome.

Following results around the league, Bristol Flyers secure their highest league finish of sixth in the BBL Championship and will face a two-legged play-off quarter final against Newcastle Eagles next weekend.



Mike Vigor went coast-to-coast before finishing the floater in the lane on his way to ten first quarter points to give Flyers a 23-28 lead at the end of the first period.

The Scottish intentional’s hot hand carried over into the second, getting his personal tally to 12 to force Danny Byrne to call for time, his side trailing 27-33.

Flyers shot 53% from long range in the opening half, as Chris Taylor sank the triple from the wing to extend Flyers' lead to double digits.

Rohndell Goodwin shortly followed with a triple of his own, before back-to-back threes from Brandon Boggs gave Bristol a 38-55 lead as the teams went in at half-time.

Daniel Edozie cleaned up Jordan Davis’ missed two pointer to push the lead out to 20 points to open the third.

With Flyers threatening to run away with it, Giants opened the fourth on a 12-2 run to force Coach Kapoulas to call a timeout.

Boggs steadied the ship with the lefty lay-up, before Godwin finished soft around the rim to put Flyers on the path to victory.

Goodwin fired a massive 27 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists, while Vigor came up with 26 points from a stellar 11 of 14 coming off the bench.
