Bristol Flyers U12s are on the verge of the league title following two wins this Saturday at the SGS WISE Arena.
Flyers hosted a triangle tournament featuring Bristol Storm and Torbay Tigers, looking for wins in both games to head into their final league game ready to clinch the title.
First up were Bristol Storm, a younger, less experienced side, but a clearly focused Flyers side started off hot from the whistle making their layups and shots count to take a big lead into the second quarter.
Coach Hill played his less experienced players for the remainder of the game and they didn't disappoint, constantly adding to the score sheet whilst using their defensive training to stop Storm coming back at them. Flyers ran out big winners, finishing the game 100 points to four.
A mention must be given to the Storm side who kept their heads up and battled to the end.
Next up was Torbay, a much more experienced and bigger side than the Storm team.
Both teams struggled to get into a rhythm with many missed shots and unforced errors, resulting in a low-scoring game β Flyers up just 11-10 at the end of the third quarter. During the break Coach Hill motivated the team and made a few changes hoping to turn things around. The changes worked with the Flyers pulling away, winning the game 24-10 at the buzzer.Β
It's all to play for in the final game.
