U12’s I get a flying start.
Flyers played their first games away at Pontypridd. The team selected was Harry Hadfield, Alex Okoyo, Kobe Hill, Stan Pitt, Jamie McLean, Nathaniel Smith, Finlay Beresford, Tom Steel, James Milton Newland and Kyron Morris. The young Flyers team started well with good ball movement and penetrative drives and got out to an early lead. Pontypridd had size & energy and they were not going away, getting many offensive rebounds which they would convert into easy points.
The second quarter was a more even period with baskets being traded back and forth. Flyers applied more pressure and towards halftime they ran into a double digit lead. Pontypridd did silence the Flyers bench as they hit a half-court shot at the buzzer which counted. All the Flyers went over and gave the Pontypridd player a high five which summed up the spirit in which the game was played.
After halftime Flyers settled into a good rhythm on the offensive end and got some easy scores. The rebounding and boxing out improved and Flyers began to run away with the game. Some impressive team play, passing and defensive stops enable Flyers to finish the game with a 54-31 win.

Game 2 V Cardiff Archers
Flyers were feeling confident after the last game; they were well warmed up and came out of the blocks on fire. Cardiff could not cope with the pressure and did not manage to get a point on the board during the first quarter. Flyers continued to work together as a team only allowing Cardiff to score 1 point in the second.
This continued into the third and fourth quarters, Cardiff were unable to match the intensity of the Flyers and the game finished with an impressive 80-1 win to Flyers. A great start to the season and a fantastic team effort.

One of the standout results of the 2018/19 campaign was undoubtedly a 3-2 win over the Blades at Bramall Lane and supporters can watch the game back in its entirety this Monday evening (March 30th).
