Report: Bristol Flyers 75-81 Cheshire Phoenix

Bristol Flyers lost the season series to Cheshire Phoenix, going down 75-81 at the SGS College Arena.

Eric Lockett put up 20 points and eight rebounds, while Teddy Okereafor and Marcus Delpeche both scored 17 points – with Delpeche completing a double-double, adding 10 rebounds.

Cheshire got off to a hot start, going on an early 8-0 run to open the game, and led by as many as nine on a pair of Mike McCall free throws.

Teddy Okereafor scored eight of his 17 points in the first, giving flyers their first lead of the game, before Matthew Bryan-Amaning responded with a three to make it a one point game at the end of the first quarter.

Threes from Josh Rogers and Josh Wilcher kept the scoreboard ticking in Flyers’ favour, before Lockett beat the buzzer from deep to give Bristol a 46-43 advantage at half-time.

Flyers were held to just 11 points in the third period, but only found themselves trailing by three points heading into the fourth.

A 12-0 run from the visitors left flyers with it all to do, trailing 62-77 with three and a half minutes to play, but Bristol responded with an 11-0 run of their own to set up another tense finish, trailing by just four points with a minute remaining.

A crucial Lay-up from Kahron Ross, followed a tough lay-up from Bryan-Amaning put the game out or reach, handing Flyers the six point defeat.
