Friday, February 13th, 7.30pm

Bristol Flyers will be hoping Friday 13th brings them some luck as they aim to end a run of four straight defeats, against Surrey United (7.30pm tip-off).

All the key information on Friday’s BBL opponents can be found below.

SURREY UNITED
Formerly Guildford Heat, Surrey United have fallen on hard times of late. As Guildford the club competed in Europe in 2007 having finished first in the league and winning the BBL Cup. They followed this up in 2008 by winning the play-offs and BBL Trophy. Losing inspirational coach Paul James in 2009, the club subsequently struggled in the league, before reforming as Surrey Heat in 2012. Heat finished 2013 in 4th, losing in the play-off semi-finals. Renaming the team Surrey United, the 2013/14 season was an abject failure with just four wins from 33 games seeing United finish 11th.  This season hasn’t seen much in the way of improvement with Surrey sitting bottom with four wins from their 22 games so far.

COACH
Jack Majewski – Both Head Coach and Owner, Majewski is a coach with a keen focus on the future, a man not afraid to blood the next generation of talent as he searches for a winning formula. Taking over the club in 2013 as the side linked up with London United, Majewski will be hoping that his long-term strategy starts to bear fruit and he can turn Surrey into the force they once were.

STAR MAN
Dominique Coleman – The 6ft 4in former Cheshire Phoenix guard/forward signed for United earlier in the month. He made an immediate impact, nearly inspiring his new team mates to a shock victory over Worcester Wolves, eventually losing 71-70 to the BBL high-flyers. A prolific scorer, Coleman’s 710 points for Cheshire last season put him fourth on the 2013-14 BBL match list.

OFFICIALS
Taking charge of Friday’s game will be Haydn Jones, Piotr Florecki and Andy Thackray.
