All the key information on Saturday’s BBL opponents can be found below.
LONDON LIONS:
Formally based in Hemel Hempstead, Watford and Milton Keynes, the Lions relocated to London for the 2012-13 season. The team spent one year at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre before moving into their current home at the Copper Box Arena in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The club’s only trophy success to date is the BBL Cup title, won in 2008 as the Milton Keynes Lions.
COACH:
Vince Macaulay – A former player for Brixton Topcats, London Towers and Hemel Royals, Macaulay acquired the Royals franchise in 1998 for an upfront fee of £1,500 and relocated it to Milton Keynes. Under his reign as owner, Macaulay has seen his side transform from BBL whipping boys to perennial play-off contenders.
STAR MAN:
Zaire Taylor - The American joined the Lions at the beginning of the season after playing a leading role in capturing the BBL Trophy and play-off double for the Worcester Wolves last year. The reigning league MVP currently averages 15.5 points per game and is second in the league in steals, averaging 1.9 per contest.
