Bristol Flyers look for their fourth straight win, as they host London Lions on Friday night (7:30pm)
Everything you need to know on Friday night’s opponents can be found below.
Since moving from Milton Keynes to London in 2012, Lions have made the BBL Play -Offs every year and have finished sixth place in the league for the past four seasons. With a refreshed roster, new head coach Mariusz Karol has the London-based squad playing some impressive basketball. Lions started the season by winning the Betway All-Stars Championship and they enter Friday’s contest in fourth place with a record of five wins and three losses.
Over the summer London Lions signed head coach Mariusz Karol to take over from Nigel Lloyd. Karol has a wealth of experience in professional basketball, as he won the Polish Women’s league with Gdynia Warta and enjoyed successful spells with Koszalin, Prokom Sopot, Turow Zgorzelec and Rosa Radom in the Polish men’s leauge.
Brandon Boggs' game-winning buzzer beater helped Bristol Flyers claim the season series over London Lions at a sold out WISE Arena.
London Lions finished last season sixth in the BBL Championship with a record of 18-15.They had a scorching start going 9-1 in all competitions and looked as though they might make a run at a top spot finish. However, Lions struggled as the season wore on. After losing Jamal Williams to a season-ending injury, Lions failed to re-capture their early season form and limped into the Play-offs, where they were defeated by the Newcastle Eagles in the semi finals.
Please note, SGS College has introduced paid parking this week, however the club has reached an agreement with Aviva insurance, a short five minute walk away from the WISE campus for fans to use their car park free of charge.
London Lions new signed home-grown guard Justin Robinson this season. Robinson won MVP honours at the Betway All-Star Championship and comes into the game averaging 18.8 points and 6.1 assists per game, which has played a key role in the Lions strong start to the season.
Robinson provides Lions with a vital offensive threat; by shooting 46% from behind the arc, he forces defences to stay honest.
