Glasgow Rocks

One of the more consistent clubs in the league, Glasgow Rocks have made the BBL Play-Offs eight out of the last nine seasons. After an impressive third-place finish last season, Rocks are looking to crack the top two for the first time since 2006.

HEAD COACH

Head Coach Tony Garbelotto made his BBL coaching debut in 2000, where he led the Newcastle Eagles to the BBL Trophy Final and finished a respectable third place in the league. Garbelotto has had success coaching in Vietnam and Germany but has since returned as Head Coach of Glasgow Rocks and the Great British National Team.

LAST TIME OUT

Bristol Flyers fell to 8-13 for the season following a 60-74 defeat at home to the Glasgow Rocks.

LAST SEASON

Rocks finished last season in third place behind Newcastle Eagles and eventual champions Leicester Riders. They looked as though they were poised to challenge for a top spot in the early goings, by winning nine of their opening ten games. However, Rocks’ form dipped and they dropped a series of close games, which effectively put them out of the race for a top two finish.

KEYS TO THE GAME

ONES TO WATCH

Kieron Achara is recognised as one of the best talents in the league. The 6ft10in forward contributed heavily to the Rocks’ success last season, averaging 13.7 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.6 blocks per game. Coach K is well aware of the threat posed by Achara on the court and will welcome the challenge of containing the Great Britain captain.

Ahead of Remembrance Sunday, both teams will pay their respects with a minute's silence before tip-off.
