Lansdown praises fan support

Stephen Lansdown has praised the fan support at the SGS College Arena after seeing Bristol Flyers secure their place in the BBL play-offs.

The club owner was in attendance during Saturday’s 80–78 comeback victory against Worcester Wolves, a results which ensured Flyers a top-eight finish for the second year in a row.

With the majority of games selling out during the 2017/18 season, Lansdown was keen to thank the Flyers faithful.

"What a fantastic game…It was a great night for everybody,” he told Bristol Flyers TV.

"The crowd were absolutely brilliant and it’s like that every week. The noise levels were tremendous.

"If we can get a 3,000 seater arena for basketball and fill it with the same sort of atmosphere, it will be magnificent.”

Bristol Flyers are guaranteed to finish above .500 for the first time since joining the BBL, whilst a pair of wins this weekend against Leeds and Manchester could see Flyers secure their highest league finish of sixth.

Lansdown added: “It’s going to be the third year out of four that we’ve made the play-offs and we go in with high hopes again. Let’s hope they can go a long way.”

Limited tickets are still available for the last home game of the regular season against Leeds Force on Friday, April 27th.
