Kapoulas Retained As GB Under-20s Head Coach

Andreas Kapoulas has been retained as the Head Coach for the Great Britain Under-20’s national team.

Coach K made the step up from GB Under-20s assistant coach last summer, and now enters his second year in charge of the Under-20s national team, alongside his Bristol Flyers role.

Making the step up to the GB Under-20s two years ago as an assistant, he has already coached many of the squad through their international junior development.

The Flyers play-caller has a wealth of experience and knowledge on the international stage, having coached England Under-15s in 2010/11 and the U16s in 2012/13.

Coach Kapoulas led GB U20s to a seventh place finish in last summer's Division B European Championships
“It's always a honour to be involved with the national team programme,” Kapoulas told bristolflyers.co.uk.

“We have a big summer ahead of us with the European Championships and our goal this year is to achieve promotion back into Division A.”

British Basketball Chief Executive, Lisa Wainwright commented; “We are delighted to name such a strong coaching and management team to all o f the GB National Youth Squads.”

“Using the experience and talent within the home countries, we’ve been able to appoint high quality coaches and excellent personnel to all squads.

“Flying the flag for GB for the first time for the younger age groups adds a new dimension for the coaches, management and players.”
