Bristol Flyers head coach Andreas Kapoulas has been named BBL coach of the month for October.

Coach K has overseen a remarkable start to the season for the BBL newcomers, including five wins in the first five weeks of the season.

This has included a run to the last four in the BBL Cup, leaving the Flyers just 40 minutes away from a showpiece final in their first season as a BBL side.

On receiving the BBL’s Coach of the Month award, Flyers Coach Andreas Kapoulas said: “I’m really pleased to receive this award.  It is a real credit to the team as a whole and recognition of the start we have made to our first ever BBL campaign. I have to thank particularly my assistant coach Nick Burns who’s been integral to how we’ve performed so far, as has the team spirit.  We have have made a great start but it is important that we stay focused on the task in hand. We want to be collecting awards at the end of the season not just the beginning!”
