PLYMOUTH CITY PATRIOTS

Currently in their first season in the BBL, the Plymouth City Patriots are the newest franchise in the league, being founded after Plymouth Raiders’ dissolution. Despite their inexperience in British Basketball action, The Patriots reside in one of England’s most historical basketball cities as the Raiders established themselves as the most successful team in National League history from 1983-2004 before competing professionally.

HEAD COACH

Certainly not new, Paul James continues to coach in Plymouth after serving previously with the Raiders. A former Coach of the Year in 2007, James brings valuable experience to the young franchise with 25 years of service amassed in the BBL throughout his coaching career.

Having enjoyed some success in the Raiders’ final season, finishing third in the BBL Championship and being Trophy runners up, James will look to continue where he left off in the city.

ONE TO WATCH

Kofi Josephs has set the league on fire this season with his unstoppable scoring ability. Currently leading the league with 22.1 points per game, Josephs has poured in a plethora of impressive performances this season, including a 46-point game against the Manchester Giants (the most ever recorded by a British born player in league history).

LAST TIME OUT

Bristol Flyers completed their double-header weekend with a 78-58 win over Plymouth City Patriots.

Malcolm Delpeche and Marcus Evans led the Flyers’ scoring with 17 points apiece, while Trejon Jacob secured the double-double, posting 16 points and 10 rebounds.
