Lloyd Gardner took over the reigns of London City Royals this summer following the departure of Junior Williams. Gardner was previously the Director of Basketball Operations at Barking Abbey, where he helped over 100 students move onto scholarships in the USA and into professional basketball careers.

The former junior international has become one of the most well-respected coaches in the country and was named BBL Coach of the Month during his first month in charge.

LAST TIME OUT

Bristol Flyers suffered a crushing road defeat against London City Royals in the BBL Cup.

The Flyers were unable to capitalise from a strong start and a crucial 17-0 run in the second period allowed the hosts pull away and never look back.

BOX SCORE

ONE TO WATCH

#4 Andrew Lawrence - Lawrence signed for the Royals in the summer after spells around the world in Spain, France, Kosovo and Italy.

The GB International averaged 15.3 points, 3.6 assists in 33 appearance for Latina Basket in Italy’s second division last season.

WHAT THEY SAY

"Andrew Lawrence is a very good player who can score the ball and create for others - he’s a tough matchup for our team.

"We just need to make it difficult for him and not give him any rhythm shots - which is easier said than done.”
