ITEC Game Preview: London City Royals (H) - BBL Cup SF

Bristol Flyers host London City Royals in the second leg of the BBL Cup semi-final on Saturday night at the earlier time of 5pm.

Coach Kapoulas’ men have a two-point lead to protect from first leg, with the winner on aggregate advancing to the BBL Cup Final at Arena Birmingham on Sunday, January 26th.

Lloyd Gardner took over the reigns of London City Royals this summer following the departure of Junior Williams. Gardner was previously the Director of Basketball Operations at Barking Abbey, where he helped over 100 students move onto scholarships in the USA and into professional basketball careers.

The former junior international has become one of the most well-respected coaches in the country and was named BBL Coach of the Month during his first month in charge.

Bristol Flyers claimed a hard-fought 82-84 win over London City Royals in the first leg of the BBL Cup semi-final.

Led by a dominant 20 point, 14 rebound double-double from Marcus Delpeche, the Flyers made six dunks in a row to close out the game.


ONE TO WATCH

#4 Andrew Lawrence - Lawrence signed for the Royals in the summer after spells around the world in Spain, France, Kosovo and Italy.

The GB International averaged 15.3 points, 3.6 assists in 33 appearance for Latina Basket in Italy’s second division last season.
