ITEC Game Preview: London City Royals (H) - BBL Championship

Bristol Flyers return to league action on Friday when they host London City Royals for the fifth time this season (7.30pm).

HEAD COACH

Lloyd Gardner took over the reigns of London City Royals during the summer following the departure of Junior Williams. Gardner was previously the Director of Basketball Operations at Barking Abbey, where he helped over 100 students move onto scholarships in the USA and into professional basketball careers. 

The former junior international has become one of the most well-respected coaches in the country and was named BBL Coach of the Month during his first month in charge.

Bristol Flyers reached their first ever BBL Cup Final, after securing a 91-77 win over the Royals in the second leg of the BBL Cup semi-final.

Gentrey Thomas hit 21 points on his way to a double-double, adding 13 rebounds and seven assists.

ONE TO WATCH

#13 Orlan Jackman - Jackman is an experienced BBL performer, who made a homecoming by joining the Royals for their debut campaign last season.

The Londoner has been one of the leading British small forwards since starting his BBL career with London Lions in 2012/13, having also enjoyed spells in Germany and Portugal, as well as back in Britain with Worcester, Newcastle and Cheshire.
