ITEC Game Preview: Leicester Riders (H) - BBL Trophy

Bristol Flyers host Leicester Riders in the opening round of the BBL Trophy on Friday night (7.30pm).

Coach Rob Paternostro has turned Leicester into one of the most consistent teams in the league, having never finished lower than fourth during his tenure at the helm. A former player in the BBL with Birmingham Bullets and Leicester Riders, Paternostro is one of a select few men to have won the BBL Coach of the Year on more than one occasion.

LAST TIME OUT

Bristol Flyers were left searching for their first ever win over Leicester Rides, following a 83-90 defeat at the SGS College Arena.

Jalan McCloud led all scorers with 23 points on 71% shooting from two point range, whilst Tevin Falzon had a superb game off the bench with 17 points and nine rebounds.

#8 Jamell Anderson - Anderson re-joined the Riders ahead of the 2019/20 season. The Nottingham native has impressed over the past few seasons, with representation of both Great Britain and England at the Commonwealth Games gaining valuable experience on the international stage.

Nottingham-born Anderson first joined the Riders in 2011 when he attracted the attention of Coach Paternostro which enabled him to both play for the Riders and study at Loughborough University. During his time at Loughborough, Anderson captained the team to an unbeaten promotion campaign in 2011.
