The Riders are one of the more storied franchises in the history of British basketball, being the oldest team in the BBL and founding members of the league.

In addition to their strong history, they have also enjoyed recent success winning three straight BBL Trophies in 2016, 2017 and 2018 and three straight BBL Playoffs in 2017, 2018 and 2019.

HEAD COACH

A former Riders player and Birmingham Bullet, Coach Rob Paternostro has achieved the majority of his accolades as a head coach, having never finished lower than fourth in the league as well as winning BBL Coach of the Year multiple times during his coaching career.

Reigning BBL Most Valuable Player, Geno Crandall has scorched the league so far this season with his extreme efficiency. The 6ft3in guard is averaging 16 points and 6.5 assists on an impressive 52% from the field and an even more impressive 54% from three across eight games.

Crandall’s 16 assists kept the Riders in last week’s game as his playmaking propelled his team forward to outscore Bristol by 12 in the fourth quarter.

LAST TIME OUT

Flyers defeated the Riders 71-68 inn the BBL Trophy last week in a hard-fought battle, in which Leicester launched a late comeback effort that saw the game end closer than anticipated.
