ITEC Game Preview » Bristol Flyers v Manchester Giants

Bristol Flyers v Manchester Giants
BBL Championship
Saturday, April 13th, 7.30pm
SGS College Arena
Bristol Flyers host Manchester Giants in a crucial game in the race for the BBL play-offs (7.30pm BST).

Everything you need to know on Saturday night's opponents can be found below.

Manchester Giants

The Giants have endured a tough past few seasons, only making the play-offs once since their return to the BBL in 2012. Having not always utilised their full quota of imports, Manchester bolstered their squad over the summer with the additions of American trio Mike McCall, Willie Clayton and Torry Butler.

Danny Byrne’s side sit just one win ahead of the Flyers in ninth, and with just three wins separating Flyers from the top four, Saturday’s result could prove vital in the push for a postseason berth.

HEAD COACH

Danny Byrne - Coach Bryne has a wealth of experience as a player from stints with Plymouth Raiders, Thames Valley Tigers and Rossendale Raptors. He began his coaching career with Lancashire Spinners shortly before joining the Giants coaching staff as an assistant in 2016.

ONE TO WATCH

#21 Willie Clayton - Manchester’s American forward Willie Clayton has had an outstanding start to his BBL career. The Giants’ big man is leading the league in field goal percentage, shooting an impressive 62%, whilst averaging 18 points and 15 rebounds per game.

LAST TIME OUT

Giants put together a devastating 15-0 run in the fourth quarter to claim a 79-69 victory at the Trafford Sportsdome.
