MANCHESTER GIANTS

New ownership, a fresh rebrand and a new home venue - things are certainly looking good for Manchester Giants.

A strong start to their BBL Cup campaign saw them advance from group two with ease, but with the league campaign officially getting underway, the team now faces a real challenge as they take on the rest of the league.

Giants' incoming crop of imports certainly had a big build-up in the summer, which was backed up by a young core of British talent, including Jordan Whelan, who returned to his childhood club from the London Lions.

HEAD COACH

Danny Bryne

Danny Bryne has a wealth of experience as a player from stints with Plymouth Raiders, Thames Valley Tigers and Rossendale Raptors. He began his coaching career with Lancashire Spinners shortly before joining the Giants coaching staff as an assistant in 2016.

ONE TO WATCH

#22 Lyle Hexom
Lyle Hexom joined the Giants over the summer, having formerly represented Memphis Grizzlies in the NBA Summer League.

Hexom’s Summer League experience was followed by a short stint with Djurgarden of Sweden’s top division, where he had six points and seven rebounds in his only game.

LAST TIME OUT

Bristol Flyers picked up an 87-61 win over the Giants last season, before the campaign was cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Gentrey Thomas led the way with 19 points and seven rebounds, whilst Eric Lockett marked his home debut with 18 points and seven rebounds from the bench.

WATCH LIVE

Fans can watch Friday night’s game exclusively on Flyers TV for just £4.99.

Coverage starts at 7.20pm, featuring a multi-angle production, with instant replays, commentary and exclusive interviews.
