Despite not making the play-offs last season, the 2017/18 campaign was one to remember for Cheshire as they secured the BBL Cup title under the guidance of young play-caller Ben Thomas.
Despite a number of roster changes this season, the ’Nix' will be hopeful of building on last season’s Cup success, which ended a decade-long silverware drought and first in the Phoenix era.
Not only is Ben Thomas the youngest coach to ever win the BBL Cup, but he is the first British coach to achieve this feat in almost a decade. Thomas will have his men ready to try and tie the season series at the SGS College Arena.
A former team-mate of Tevin Falzon, the Cheshire Phoenix big man CJ Gettys was named in the Molten BBL Team of the Year last season after averaging 18 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. The seven-footer has made seven appearances for the Phoenix this season and is currently averaging 14.2 points and 9.7 rebounds per contest.
Bristol Flyers completed a double-winning weekend with a crucial road victory over Cheshire Phoenix.
