Injury report - Wilcher to undergo surgery

Josh Wilcher will undergo surgery to repair a bone spur in his right ankle.

The point guard was forced to miss the opening game of the 2020/21 season, after struggling with an existing injury since pre-season.

After speaking with a consultant and an MRI scan, it was concluded that he would require surgery and rehabilitation, which will last approximately 4-6 weeks.

Flyers Head Coach Andreas Kapoulas said: "Josh is a key contributor and focal point in what we are doing as a team and without a doubt we will miss him during this period.

"The most important thing right now is for him to get healthy while we take care of things on the court. We look forward to having him back on the court with us soon."

Josh Wilcher said: "Unfortunately injuries are something that we can't control, but I'm really excited to return to the group once I'm fit and healthy and I'll be watching and cheering on the team until then.”

The club wishes Josh all the best for a full and speedy recovery.
