Injury report » Rogers suffers concussion

Bristol Flyers can confirm Josh Rogers has been placed into the club’s concussion protocol.

Rogers took a heavy blow to the head when falling during the fourth quarter of Saturday’s BBL Cup clash against Plymouth City Patriots, and was quickly attended to by club therapist Craig Barden and taken back to the locker room.

Following further examination, he was diagnosed with a concussion and has been resting fully since Saturday. He will now follow the enhanced graduated return to play protocol set out by Basketball England.

“Josh is thankfully feeling much better than he was after his fall on Saturday,” said Barden.

"When he is symptom free, he will follow a gradual increase in exercise over numerous days.

"The protocol starts with a light bike session before progressing to running, non-contact training, contact training and subsequently returning to play.

"Josh’s return date is dependent on how he responds mentally and physically when progressesing through the protocol, but given the seriousness of head injuries, he will only return when all parties, including the club doctor, are happy he has fully recovered.”
