Injury Report - Mayindombe out with sprained ankle

Bristol Flyers can confirm Panos Mayindombe has suffered a sprained ankle and is likely to be out for the remainder of the season.

Mayindombe landed awkwardly on his left ankle against Sheffield Sharks on Good Friday, and was forced to miss the rest of the game.

After a full assessment from the club’s therapist Craig Barden, it was concluded that he would need to miss the next few weeks to allow him to fully recover before stepping back on the court.
Mayindombe has made 24 appearances for the Flyers this season.
“Panos sustained a pretty nasty ankle injury against Sheffield last week. He went to A&E and had some scans which ruled out a fracture but he’s still quite swollen and sore at the moment,” Barden told bristolflyers.co.uk.

"We can’t be too specific but it looks like a fairly severe ankle sprain which we will keep monitoring day by day.

"Panos puts 100% into everything he does, as I’m sure those who have seen him play will agree, and I know he’ll do the same with his rehab to give himself the best chance possible of playing before the end of the season.”

Mayindombe is set to miss tonight’s sold out game against Manchester Giants (Friday), but is hopeful to be back on court before the end of the season.
