Injury Report - Fred Thomas out for the season

Fred Thomas has suffered a tear to the scaphoid-lunate ligament in his wrist and will be out for the rest of the season.

Thomas landed awkwardly during the BBL Cup Final, and following an initial assessment from club therapist Craig Barden, was forced to miss recent league games against Cheshire Phoenix and Glasgow Rocks.

Following a second evaluation from a wrist specialist, it was concluded that he would require surgery and rehabilitation, which will last approximately 3-4 months.

Thomas underwent successful surgery on Friday morning and now begins his road to recovery.

Flyers Head Coach Andreas Kapoulas said: "This is a real blow for Fred who has contributed so much to the programme.

"He is a real fan favourite and I am sure all of our supporters would like to wish him all the best for a speedy recovery."

Flyers club therapist Craig Barden added: “I would like to say a personal thank you to Bristol City and Bears’ Doctor Jonathan Williams for his help and advice in ensuring Fred had the best care possible.”
