I'm ready to be thrown into the fire - Thomas-Edwards

Raphell Thomas is delighted with the chance to play BBL basketball for the first time under head coach Andreas Kapoulas.

The former Great Britain Under-20 standout has linked up with his new Bristol Flyers teammates this week, having starred in NBL Division One last season, posting 23 points and 14.5 rebounds per game.

And after dominating the second tier of British Basketball, Thomas-Edwards is excited by the top flight opportunity that awaits.

"It's great to be here - I'm loving what coach is saying about our goals and I’m excited to get started,” he told Bristol Flyers TV.
Thomas-Edwards posted 23 points and 14.5 rebounds per game last season for Leicester Warriors
"I've heard the stories about Bristol Flyers, how they started in the bottom ranks of British basketball and climbed their way to the top. I love the reputation that Bristol has and I want to be apart of it.

"I think I played well in Division One last year and I want to see how that translates to the BBL. I know it's going to be completely different, but I want to see how I stack up against it.

"I'm ready to be thrown into the fire because I believe that’s the best way to get going."

Watch Raphell Thomas-Edwards make his Bristol Flyers debut against Surrey Scorchers on Friday, September 20th in the BBL Cup.
