Report: Bristol Flyers 92-46 USA Select

A new-look Bristol Flyers got their preparations for the season off to a perfect start, destroying the visiting USA Select, 92-46.

Fred Thomas led the game in scoring with 22 points alongside seven rebounds and six assists in an assured debut.

What Happened

Flyers started on fire from beyond the arc, with Fred Thomas, Tevin Falzon and Justin Gray each grabbing early threes to begin their Flyers careers.

Jalan McCloud got his first points on the board for Flyers with the And-1 following some tough defending from USA Select.

Flyers offered some tantalising glimpses of the potential for this season with Daniel Edozie and Thomas hammering home a couple of dunks as the first quarter ended 21-7 in favour of Bristol.

The energetic Flyers continued to dominate in the second quarter, Gray, Thomas and McCloud impressing alongside fans favourite Edozie. Flyers up 48-20 at the half.

The half-time break gave USA Select a chance to regroup but the second half proved no easier for the men from the States as Flyers stayed on top at both ends of the court.

Another productive quarter saw Flyers up 75-28 heading into the final quarter.

Flyers were scoring at will - but the defensive side of their game will have pleased Coach Kapoulas, Falzon ending up with a whopping 19 rebounds.

USA simply couldn't cope with the Flyers, Bristol getting their first win of pre-season, 92-46.
