WHAT HAPPENED

Flyers got off to a soaring start with Raphell Thomas-Edwards effective in drawing fouls. Malcolm Delpeche capped an 8-0 run with a pair of dunks and Shane Walker got out in transition to throw down a slam of his own. Flyers kept the defensive pressure high. Ball movement found open looks on the perimeter for Evans and Walker to close out the first half with Flyers ahead 34-41.

Surrey Captain Tayo Ogedengbe came out of the break firing and levelled the game with some quick scoring. Bristol remained composed and weathered the run, with Josh Rogers hitting in for a triple and recycling a miss to Pasquale Landolfi for a three.

Thomas-Edwards' night was ended early after fouling out with 16 points, nine rebounds and three assists. Evans got it done at both ends, splashing a three and then getting in front of Caylin Raftopoulos to draw a charging foul. With Bristol ahead by ten, Coach Creon took a time out. Davis Jr. hit back to back threes to bring the game back within reach.

A Scorchers play out of timeout saw Martelle McLemore tie the game at 82 with 30 seconds remaining. Coach Kapoulas called timeout and put the ball in Evans’ hands to close out the game. The guard did not disappoint, managing the clock and elevating from the three-point line for the game-winner.
