Former players enjoy Flyers return

Former Bristol Flyers players Gareth Till, Roy Owen and Tyrone Treasure were delighted to be back in Flyers colours once more to show support for Greg Streete on Saturday evening.

The Greg Streete testimonial saw Flyers players past and present reunited on the court to celebrate Streete’s incredible 12-year service to the club.

"It was brilliant, we all know Greg’s been a great ambassador for Bristol Flyers,” said former captain Till.

"It’s been a privilege to be out here with former Flyers and celebrate his career.

"He’s achieved a lot of things with the club, from trophies to league titles so he can look back and be very proud of his achievements.”

“It was an unreal night with a lot of Greg’s old team-mates coming together, added Owen.

"We always say that this is a family - I saw guys that I played with six or seven years ago tonight and it’s like nothing's changed.

"The Flyers are on another journey now and I know this season it's about to go to another level, but a big part of that is what Greg’s done over the years.”

Former player Treasure described Streete’s testimonial as a special moment for everyone associated with Bristol Flyers basketball club.

“There were a lot of heartfelt messages in his speech and it was great for him to appreciate everyone that made him who he is.

"I played with him since I was 12 years old and it’s been an honour playing with him over the years.

"He brought so much to the city of Bristol and I’m proud that everybody came out to celebrate it together."
