Flyers Women Sign American Guard

Flyers women are delighted to announce the signing of American Guard, Amani Clark for the 2016/17 season.

Clark comes to Bristol from Middle Town Delaware. Amani had a successful college career with the Lincoln Lions, a Div 2 college playing in the CIAA.

Clark, a former captain of the Lions, finished her career as the all-time steals leader for the Lions, as well as host of other personal acknowledgements. Clark successfully helped the Lions to its first ever championship appearance in the CIAA tournament.

Amani comes to Bristol after accepting an offer to continue her studies at the University West Of England, where she’ll be taking up a master’s degree in marketing. Clark will also be suiting up for the UWE Jets as they push for promotion in the BUCS competition.

“I’m thrilled to have signed Amani for this coming season” Coach Gareth Till said.

“She’s a fantastic player and person, I’m really looking forward to see how she helps both teams. We can already see the areas she’s going to make us stronger, she’s a real competitor on both ends of the floor with a strong desire to win, which fits in perfectly with in our team.

“To have a partnership with UWE and to be able to facilitate this type of signing shows real ambition for Women’s Basketball in the city. Our aim is to develop both programs and take them as far as we can in the UK."

You can see the Flyers women on October 8th, as they take on defending play-off champions Southwark at the WISE arena 6pm tip, contact flyerswomen@gmail.com for further details.
