Great Britain suffered a second straight defeat at the 2015 FIBA European Under-20 Championship on Wednesday with a 80-72 loss to Slovenia.
The team led by as many as 12 points during an impressive first half performance, but a 9-0 Slovenia run in the fourth ultimately cost them the game.
Flyers’ players Deane Williams and Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye put in solid performances once again off the bench, with Williams scoring nine of his 12 points in the first quarter, whilst Lautier-Ogunleye finished with nine.
“In the second half we got away from defending and sharing the ball,” Head Coach Douglas Leichner told gbbasketball.com.
“In the first half we had hit a lot of our benchmarks in terms of what we wanted to achieve, but then we got into some foul trouble. We allowed them to take a lot of free throws and we weren’t able to stop their penetration.”
