Bristol Flyers have completed the signing of 6ft 3in American shooting guard Aaron Cosby for the remainder of the season.
Cosby joins the club from Western Kentucky University in NCAA Division One, where he was the only player to start all 34 games in 2015/16, averaging 13.7 points per game.
The 24-year-old made 81 three-pointers in his senior year, which was tied for the third-most by a Western Kentucky Hilltopper in a single season.
“I’m very glad to be here,” Cosby told Bristol Flyers TV.
“It was a pretty quick process, I heard that there was an opening at the Bristol Flyers and that it would be a good situation to start my career so I was all for it.
“Coach Kapoulas told me that he needs some scoring from the backcourt and that’s what I do best so I think it will work out great."
Cosby also has previous experience at the University of Illinois, where he made 19 appearances in 2014/15, averaging 7.8 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.
The American signs his first professional contract with the Bristol Flyers, and will link up with his new teammates in time for Friday’s clash away to the Worcester Wolves LIVE worldwide on the BBC Sport website and app.
“Aaron brings us some much needed depth and leadership as we enter a very crucial month of December,” said Flyers head coach Andreas Kapoulas.
"We've spoken to him a lot this past week, and he really fits into everything we are trying to do here.
"He has the ability to get his shot off with very little separation as well as attack off the dribble and get to the foul line.
“He suits our style of play very well and will help us to turn things around this season.”
