Flyers Host Surrey Scorchers On Opening Night

Bristol Flyers will begin their 2015/16 BBL Championship campaign at home to the newly formed Surrey Scorchers on Saturday, September 19th.

The Scorchers have had a complete re-branding for the 2015/16 season, following the takeover from Surrey Sports Park, who also control the Surrey Smashers Badminton team, alongside the Surrey Storm Netball squad.

There will be just 12 teams competing in the British Basketball League this season, after it was announced that the Durham Wildcats have withdrawn from the league after the UK Border Agency clarified the rules surrounding player eligibility for overseas students.

The first away game of the season sees the Flyers make the short trip to Worcester on Friday, September 25th, whilst London Lions will visit the SGS WISE Arena in the final home game on Saturday, April 16th.

Derby clashes with south-west rivals Plymouth Raiders take place in October, December, January and April, with the ‘Green Machine’ coming to the WISE Arena on Friday, December 11th.

Coach Kapoulas’ men conclude their season with an away clash against last season’s Play-Off rivals Manchester Giants on Sunday, April 17th.

2015/16 season tickets will go on sale on Monday, August 3rd.
