The SGS WISE Arena was a sellout on Friday night, in a great showcase of Flyers Family community spirit.
In addition to Flyers regulars, including junior players, volunteers and the local basketball community, the club were delighted to welcome groups from local businesses and schools.
Bristol Metropolitan Academy and Queen Elizabeth’s Hospital (QEH) were out in force, with the two Bristol schools bringing over 90 fans to cheer on the Flyers. Staff and pupils from QEH took part in the ‘high five line up’, whilst Bristol Met took to the court for a half-time shootout.
Construction experts Churngold were the game presenting partners and the club would like to thank Managing Director Andrew Brown and his team for attending. They were joined by staff from headline sponsor Resource Solutions Group (RSG), ‘back of shirt sponsors’ Integral and Lansdown Club members Airbus.
Also in attendance was six-year-old Oskar Pycroft, who has received assistance from Bristol Sport in raising funds for a life-changing operation to help the young Bristol City supporter walk.
Although the final result wasn’t what fans would have wanted, the community atmosphere surrounding the club is exactly what the Flyers set out to achieve. A huge thank you to everyone involved in the Flyers Family.
