Edozie named Flyers club captain

Daniel Edozie has been named Bristol Flyers club captain ahead of the 2018/19 season.

The England international, who enters his fourth year with the club, will take ownership of Coach Kapoulas’ vision on the court and lead the team into their fifth season in the British Basketball League.

Edozie takes over from Mike Vigor, who is set to re-join his fellow team-mates at the end of December.

"It was really exciting to find out the news,” Edozie told Bristol Flyers TV.

“I talked about it with Coach before I went back to the States this past summer and he told me that he wanted to acknowledge me as captain.

"It will give me a chance to have a more active leadership role in the team and I'm really excited to get started."

The Flyers have two more pre-season games before they open the new campaign against London City Royals and Edozie has revealed he’s very impressed with how quickly the team chemistry is forming this season.
“We’re shaping up really well,” he added.

“We have great personalities on the team this year and everyone gets on really well. Everybody wants to improve and we all want to do it as a team and not just individually.

“That’s what pre-season is all about, you get the opportunity to build chemistry towards the regular season."

Tickets for Flyers' pre-season clash with the Welsh National Team on Saturday, September 15th are available on the door.
