Delpeche puts pre-season form down to hard work

Marcus Delpeche believes his early pre-season form is down to the hard work he’s been putting in over the summer.

The 6ft7in forward finished with 15 points and six rebounds against USA Select on Thursday night, before notching a game-high 19 points and six boards against Solent Kestrels just two days later.

"It’s definitely been a testament to the work I’ve been putting in over the summer,” he told Bristol Flyers TV.

"Our team chemistry so far has been phenomenal. Everyone’s so unselfish, that there's actually been times where Coach Kapoulas has told us to stop passing the ball so much.

"I think the biggest thing is that we’ve all spent so much time together off the court. All of the things we’ve been doing together has translated back on to the court.

"Our offence has come along really well and that’s a testament to our team chemistry.”
Delpeche made just eight appearances for the Flyers after joining the club in March and played a crucial role in helping Bristol to the semi-finals of the BBL play-offs last season.

After signing for his first full season with the club in the summer, Marcus is set to play on a separate team to his twin brother Malcolm for the first time in their professional careers.

"The toughest part is when I look down the bench and I see that he’s not there,” Marcus added.

"The tougher transition has been off the court because that’s where we spend most of our time together.

"It definitely feels different, but I talk to Malcolm all of the time through FaceTime, so I think it’s been pretty easy so far.”

Flyers will continue their pre-season preparations when they host the Welsh National Team on Saturday, September 15th.
