Coach K brings in former Shark Davis

Bristol Flyers have completed the signing of Jordan Davis from DBL Sharks Sheffield on a one-year deal.

The 25-year-old guard returns for his second year in the BBL, where last season he made 15 appearances for the Sharks, averaging 9.8 points and 5.4 assists per game.

Davis, who holds an Irish passport, becomes Coach Kapoulas’ third new recruit ahead of the upcoming season, after it was announced exclusively on Facebook LIVE earlier today.

“I’m really pleased to have signed with the Flyers,” Davis told bristolflyers.co.uk.

“Coach K got in touch and I really liked the message he had for me.”

"He really understands the way that I play, and it sounded like the right move for me to make."

Davis spent two years at the University of Tampa, where he averaged 15.6 points per game in his senior year, whilst ranking second in school history in free-throw percentage (.844) and fifth in assists (396).

The two-time all-Sunshine State Conference selection was also an all-region performer as a senior.

“I was surprised when he (Andreas Kapoulas) first got in touch,” he continued.

"We’ve had a couple of FaceTime calls and texted quite a bit, but just by the conversations that we’ve been having I can tell that he’s very excited about the team we’re putting together this year."

Flyers head coach Kapoulas added: "It's great to welcome Jordan to our club and we’re really looking forward to working with him.

"He is a true point guard who can create for others, but also step up and score when required.

"Jordan's playmaking ability and experience of the league will help give our team a winning edge this season."

"He had a good first year in the BBL, but he has not been able to show his full ability due to an injury that restricted the amount of games that he was able to play last season.

"He will complement our existing roster very well and he is another guy who knows what it takes to win, which is so important as we look to embark on our most successful season in the BBL."

Davis will join up with his new team-mates for pre-season training in August, as preparations ramp up for the Flyers' fourth season in the British Basketball League.
