Club statement: upcoming Eagles and Lions games postponed

Bristol Flyers’ next two games have been postponed in accordance with the BBL’s Secure Play Protocols.

Coach Andreas Kapoulas, Teddy Okereafor and Ben Mockford, as well as other members of the GB National Team were last night instructed to self isolate until the end of the week by the International Travel Contact Tracing Team of Public Health England, due to a person on their recent flight home from Montenegro subsequently testing positive for COVID-19.

During the league’s routine testing protocols, all Flyers players, coaches and staff were tested last Wednesday (February 24th) and again yesterday (Monday, March 1st), with everyone returning negative COVID tests on both occasions.

The British Basketball League, Newcastle Eagles and London Lions support the rearrangements in order to ensure the health and safety of players and staff of all teams.

New dates for the postponed games will be announced in due course.

Supporters who have purchased a Flyers TV game pass for the Newcastle Eagles game will be automatically refunded.
